Cyanotype: Photography Workshop
Cyanotype Art
Cyanotype is a classical photography technique that mainly uses the contact-based transfer technique. This kind of technique uses ultraviolet radiation as a medium to achieve photo exposure. It can use process control to produce perfect photos during production.
Cyanotype, also known as ferro-prussiate or blueprint process, was invented by Sir John Herschel, a mutual friend of Anna Atkins and his father, in 1841-1842. Herschel discovered that many iron compounds could be sensitive to light, thus inventing the cyanotype technique. This ancient photographic technique is still active in the field of cartography nowadays, which is what designers commonly call blueprints.
Dear students,
The reaction of acid and alkali precipitates the blue marks; The combination of light and shadow falls on the paper and turns into images. The romance of the cyanotype lies in the fact that each image produced is unique. Ling College will hold the Cyanotype Photography Workshop tomorrow. Let's explore the cyanotype technique together and feel the magic of sunshine and time!
